About the Image(s)

Here is ”Writing on the Wall”. Early morning light created mysterious reflections on the wall of the ugly mustard yellow office building, and the rows of the windows reflected the opposite houses and the blue sky, creating something like a message from the Aliens. Fuji X-T4, 27.5 mm, 1/480 s, f/7.1, ISO 400. I corrected the perspective and replaced some overexposed windowpanes with their neighbors, added a little vibrance and contrast, and, to emphasize the sci-fi mood, a Spherical effect in the middle of the image in Affinity Photo. - What do you think?

That filter effect made a huge difference, taking it from an okay image to a really great picture   Posted: 10/08/2025 22:00:31

I agree with Bob that the filter is what took an OK photo to a great picture. I like the contrast between the yellow of the wall and the blue reflections. My only suggestion is to crop from the bottom to make the image perfectly symmetrical, with the upper and lower stripes of the same width. Also, there is a spot on the second round of tiles above the third window of the round pane that you might want to clone out.   Posted: 10/17/2025 03:02:21

Thank you, Jose! I'll do that - did not notice the spot before you poined it out!   Posted: 10/25/2025 17:40:37

The brisk contrast between the yellow building and the blue and gray reflections is good. You also straightened the perspective, which works well for this image.
But I find the single spherical distortion a surprise. How about covering the entire image with a series of such distortions, a bit like a molecular crystal structure.   Posted: 10/20/2025 07:00:01

Thank you, Stephen! A grand idea, I'll start experimenting!   Posted: 10/25/2025 17:44:33
