About the Image(s)

I was in the Alligator River NWR in North Carolina last month and as we were driving along saw this timber rattler in the road sunning itself. I decided to go into the grass as we got closer and I snapped a couple pictures of the head (at full zoom!) Image was slightly cropped for composition and a slight vignette applied. I also desatured and reduced luminosity of the greens a little bit to let the snake stand out from the background.
