About the Image(s)
Description: Taken from my backyard earlier this year. I used my D750 with a 28-105 zoom at 105 mm< Aperture at 4.5 and shutter at 1/500 second handheld. I made a duplicate layer and used the smudge to swirl up the scene for use as a background for the blossom. I desaturated the duplicate layer a little before uncovering the blossom with the erasure tool. I cropped to a square thinking that was the best way to present the subject.

Donald, this is a gorgeous tack sharp flower and your process for the background was masterful. With most primary subjects I do not like dead center but this works. Well done.   Posted: 10/13/2025 00:42:22

Hi Donald, Thank you for sharing your post processing approach. To my eye this is a most creative and stunning image. Those swirls create wonderful background textures are soothing to me.   Posted: 10/16/2025 18:18:07
