November 2026 - Flowers of the Sea
About the Image(s)
This month's theme is a hard one!
My choice is the track "Flowers of the Sea" by Era (composer Eric Levisalles) ??” one of my favorites from them…
I took this photo almost twenty years ago on Sakhalin Island, in the Russian Far East (just north of Japan), on the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk.
The flower in the photo is a briar (or brier). For some reason, these particular bushes, with its huge blooms, grows only along the shoreline. Because of that, locals on Sakhalin call it "sea briar"… Flowers of the Sea…
I took this photo with a simple Olympus C-170 compact camera, f/2.8, 1/640 sec, ISO 50.
