One of the reasons why I love macro photography is the opportunity to examine and capture forms of life that we usually pass by without noticing.
Life on a small scale is amazingly diverse! And beautiful in its own way, like this Xanthoria Parietina, for example.
The picture has been taken by Canon EOS 600D + Selena 58mm f/1.9C + Marumi DHG Macro Achromat 330 (+3) + Hoya PL-CIR HD Series II.

Oleg, I agree that life on a small scale is diverse and photography is one way to call attention to these life forms. Your photo captures an image of a brightly colored lichen that many people would overlook, well done. For me the image is too blurry around the edges and the center part could use a little sharpening. Posted: 07/14/2026 20:29:12

You must have lost about 5 stops ,sorry not for me but if you like it that's what it's all about .
To me at first glance it looked like a P.C. LENS shoot.
