Wow, what a huge mouthful! Absolutely spot-on shot of this lovely bird. Nice soft background, and sharp eye. You should be proud of this one!   Posted: 10/09/2025 15:15:00

Fantastic shot of the kingbird. My only complaint is that these birds are generally dark grey, almost black, and this one appears blue. Otherwise, the position, background etc. are perfect. Love that you can even see the bee.   Posted: 10/09/2025 21:56:09

Thank you Leslie. In this instance, I'm not sure why the blue is not darker. This was taken in the early morning with back lite overcast lighting, which may have had some effect on the color. Also, the color may have changed somewhat during post processing, but not to the extent of a complete changing in color. I no longer have the raw file, but I did attach another photo (untouched) of the same bird taken when it flew away, showing that the crown is dark, but there is still some blue. It is a mystery.   Posted: 10/12/2025 20:09:44

Jim,

The color range is fantastic. The Kingbird's color reminds me of Jays. I like the addition of the flora, as well. The bokeh is well done and the capture of the yellow jacket completes the strong story.   Posted: 10/10/2025 22:40:19

Jim, this is one of those few images that I wouldn't change a thing. Background is non distracting and the branch leads your eye directly to the bird. The bee brings it up another notch. Super catch Jim!   Posted: 10/11/2025 12:57:04
