Gerhard, great action image of the spoony with the catch. I always wondered as why the African have white feathers, and the American pink. It is all related to their diet and combined genetic differences. The African feed on small fish, insects , crustaceans and their genetics favor white plumage rather than the deposition of pink carotenoid pigments in its feathers as it happens with the roseate spoonbill, in other words the diet provides the pigments but genetics determines how they are used.
The image is very sharp, however I think the crop is too tight specially at the tail and the top where additional space would look better. This way creates some tension.   Posted: 11/02/2026 14:39:18
