About the Image(s)
The bird is a Great Blue Heron and the fish is a fresh water catfish. The heron is very common in this my area. I often have my camera on heron’s as they stand motionless in one spot. I have gotten a number of good shots waiting for them to catch prey. But I only succeed about 1 time out of 100 getting a shot like this. I saw him motionless waiting and had my camera on him for some time before he stabbed the fish. I captured 50 or so images of him bringing the fish out of the water and taking it back behind a hill where I could no long see him. I am sure he enjoyed his meal behind the hill.
