About the Image(s)
This is an image collected from my old image archive of 2018. While I went to pay my respects to the language martyrs of "21st February of 1952" at the "Shaheed Minar- Martyrs Memorial" in Bangladesh. This image was captured by my Canon EOS 5D Mark III camera a little after the mid day hours of 21st February 2018.
I took this shot with a f9, 1/320 sec with an ISO of 100 with no flash. A simple crop and light adjustment is done by cs6 and there it is, for you to give your feedback. This image was captured from a distance on a higher platform.
I hope you enjoy the image and any feedback is welcome.

Hi Kamal,
This is a very interesting story to accompany the image, and I'm sure it was a significant moment for you. The memorial itself is quite an intriguing structure, and your choice of perspective works well. The vibrancy of the colors and the contrasting whites of the background structure really give strength to the image.

Hi Kamal. This is a very interesting architectural structure and you have done a great job with the perspective and viewpoint, making sure that the verticals are vertical and using the leading lines of the aisles in the steps to lead the viewers' eye towards the brightly colored flower wreaths. I love the way the red circles of the wreaths are repeated in the large red circle of the structure, and the red is repeated again in the letters and berries on the left. This is a very effective photojournalistic presentation and I'd love to know more about the meaning of the language of martyrs 21st February of 1952.   Posted: 10/12/2025 23:12:07

Hi Kamal - I am sure I am over-simplifying the the great pride and reverence this memorial holds for Bangladesh. If so, I do apologize. What I understand is that the memorial (one of several?) pays homage to those who lost their lives in their quest for recognition of an official language which ultimately resulted in the liberation of Bangladesh from Pakistan and an international UNESCO resolution celebrating International Mother Language Day.
The memorial is beautiful, owing to the color balance created by the surrounding vegetation, the individual memorials and those many commemorative items left behind. I consider this street photography and as such wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing and helping me understand a bit of your country's history.   Posted: 10/20/2025 20:01:57

Hi Kamal -
I think the composition of this is lovely - being off center adds so much to the feel for me. The bright contrast of the reds with the white structure works well.   Posted: 10/21/2025 11:53:08

Hi Kamal,
Great image. I like that you shot it from an angle as opposed to straight on. The red an white make for a dramatic effect. My only wish is that you might have been able to reduce the highlights to get a bit of interest in the sky - or maybe a sky replacement...?
Thanks for sharing the image and history lesson.
