This is a fun shot that captures the joy of summer. The composition is great, with the boys forming a triangle. None of the figures distract, as they are all dressed in the same color. The fact that they are not looking at the camera really makes this photo a candid look into a fun time. Great job.   Posted: 07/05/2026 23:34:52

You can almost hear him yelling, "Cow-a-bunga"! (Or whatever kids yell today as they jump off into the pool.)
Nice balance of the three boys' positions. The inclusion of the two boys tells us this isn't just a lone swimmer but "a gang" enjoying a summer break.
I like the various shades of blue against the earth tones of the background. While that's likely just a happy accident, it works well.
Nice balance of shutter speed and depth of field.
Nice shot, Wendy.

A real fun shot of the lads enjoying the swimming pool. We're going through our own heatwave in the UK at the moment, so there are many families wishing they had pools.
As has been said, the different areas of blue help to bind those areas into a single photograph.
Because the photo hasn't been taken square-on to the pool some of the horizontals go up and down but it's just a small thing. It's just once seen...   Posted: 07/14/2026 13:14:22
