July 2026 - Summer

About the Image(s)

Not the shot I was going to go for but it’s definitely Summer here. Hanging on a mooring as the sun sets, enjoying the peace and quiet . Pretty much as shot, slight adjustment for the sun and cropped to fit.

A good capture of the setting sun with its reflections well captured on the water. As a suggestion, I would crop off some of the water to put more emphasis on the sky. It does look like a peaceful scene.   Posted: 07/05/2026 23:21:09

You're right. This would look better as a 2x3 or 9x16 portrait. Good suggestion, Barbara. Thanks.   Posted: 07/07/2026 19:33:05

Hi Gene, nice summertime image as the sun goes down over the water, perhaps the image is a little dark with the background and boats loosing detail, the golden reflection on the water makes the image, with no blown out areas, I can see a more of a panoramic shot (16:9) by cropping some off the bottom , but still keeping the sun on the waves, and highlighting the lovely light with the sun rays and colour in the clouds, well captured.   Posted: 07/11/2026 06:43:02

First thank you for allowing me to the coordinator of this group till the end of the month.

I enjoy seeing your image water and sky and makes me for the days when we had various text top / wallpaper for our screens etc.

As mentioned, it feels a little dark. You may have gotten away with it, if the yacht wasn't there.
You do have a 50/50 above and below the horizon. Personally, I would lose the top down to where the clouds start to creep in on the left side. In that way, you retain the full reflection.
Have you even thought about rotating it and making it a portrait image? After all, the centre is where the real interest is, in the sun and its reflection.   Posted: 07/14/2026 13:30:42
