About the Image(s)
A friend of mine gave me this leaf. I found the close-ups very interesting, like topographies. My wife thinks there is not quite enough here to sustain interest.
What do you think?
Shot with a Canon R6 Mark II, RF 100mm lens, 1/5 sec at f/11, ISO 400, with a Westcott continuous light softbox, stacked from 34 images (in camera), processed in Helicon.

The close-up is very interesting Doug and exceptionally clear. Great work with the bracketing and then stacking.
I'm inclined to your wife's point of view - it IS interesting but needs something added to keep the viewer engaged. Maybe a cigarette jutting from one corner to give a clue as to what the image is showing.
I hope we see some more of your bracketing/stacking work in the future.   Posted: 10/12/2025 04:21:10

Well, Doug, I LOVE the texture and also the color of this image. Given that, without your explanation, I would not know that it is a leaf. It could even be a crumpled up paper bag.
I think it would be interesting to have an image like this in a series of abstracts.
I will say, though, that I agree with your wife. I think having the entire leaf against even a black background would have it be more interesting.   Posted: 10/12/2025 07:39:51
