About the Image(s)
The photo of the bat was taken on Nov 20th 2023 in a cave in Costa Rica.
This photo is going to be submitted in a monthly competition theme : it gives me the creeps.
As you can tell from the photo .. I duplicated the bat and placed it on his head to make it look creepy ... darken the men and the background.. I enhanced his face and especially his eyes.. I would love to hear your feedback on how to improve this image
The photo of the men was taken in Srilanka with my Iphone 14 Pro Max 1/640sec, ISO 80 f1.78.

Sophia, I love how you used the image of the bat in this composite. It was both well-done and very clever! To me, his eyes are the focus of the photograph. They carry a feeling of wisdom and suspicion. Very well done!
A couple of thoughts...
Although I like how you darkened the man's face, it appears unnaturally red to me. And, the bats, while necessary for the feeling you're conveying, are so bright that they compete with his eyes. I took a moment to play with your image in Camera, addressing the two items mentioned above, darkening the brightest part of the beard, and doing a minor crop. Your thoughts?

Sophia, I think you nailed it with your final image. The bats are more defined, making them creepier. Changing the eye color makes the final image even better. Posted: 10/08/2025 21:36:27

Hi Sophia. Wow, what a difference between the first and final images. You've really nailed it. The closer crop brings the man closer to us and allows us to focus on those eyes and the bats. Personally, I think the man without the bats would work really well too because there is so much wisdom in that face. But as a creative image, it's really different and unique. Well done!
