Hi folks, I'm back again. I hurt my back badly in January and could not even sit at the computer, let alone take any pictures. I can now manage the computer for a short time but am still not able to get any new pictures, so I am using the archives at the moment.
This picture was shot in 2016 in the city of Durham in the north east of England. I just like the view of the Bella Italia restaurant under the bridge with the Cafe Rouge up on the roadway over the bridge. The image was shot on my Nikon D 7100 camera using a wide range 18-200 zoom at 56 mm. Exposure was 1/25 at f/11 with ISO 200. My PP software is ON1 RAW and I applied NoNoise AI at default settings then I tried the Brilliance AI button as a starting point for processing. It gave me some small adjustments that needed no further work so I cropped to get a better composition and here it is.

I'm sorry to hear about your back. I took a stupid fall in early June and have had a similar experience. I like the composition of this scene. The balance between the building and the bridge is very good. I would like to see a little more space around the building. It seems a little crowded in the upper left corner. Guy, I am glad that you are getting better slowly but steadily. That was my all around lens with my firs Digital Nikon, the D300 DX (crop) sensor. I took a lo of images with them.
As you describe, I also like the bridge separating both restaurants. It looks like a very quite and peaceful place. Nice colors, good DOF and sharpness. Posted: 07/08/2026 15:08:04

Guy, I'll reiterate, with the previous two of said. We're glad to see your image back even if you're digging into the archives. You've certainly pulled out a good one. Bill mowed the balance of the bridge between the two buildings is exceptional. The colors are realistic. A well-balanced image Guy. After viewing Bella Italia through the bridge opening the bridge railing provides the leading line to the cafe. The soft color for me, adds a relaxed feeling. I hope your back is on a good healing tract. Posted: 07/16/2026 00:23:54

Let me add my regrets for your injury and hope for futher improvement. Your image conveys a sense of peace and tranquility in an urban setting. The bridge looks old, adding to the ambiance of a time that has passed whereas the buildings look forward to modern times. The red signs give just enough pop to add more interest and your framing is spot on. It also makes the restaurant look inviting. Just looked it up didn't realize it is a chain.
