About the Image(s)
I took this photo in fall of 2023 while hiking near Crested Butte. The aspen had turned golden, and we enjoyed a beautiful hike. I used my Canon EOS R6 at 40 mm, f/16, 1/60.
In Lightroom, I brought up the shadows, decreased the highlights, adjusted color, and added a slight vignette. As always, I appreciate your comments.

Hi Ruth,
Autumn is my favorite season when trees change their leaves into vibrant colors. In this image, the sunrays highlight the golden colors of the high trees and the lower shrubs in the foreground. The pine trees on the left add a complementary element to the scene. Your post processing to bring back the blue sky is well done.
To me, the golden trees seem to tilt to the right, probably they are on an uneven ground. It's not an issue, so the decision is yours to make to correct it or not. Thanks for sharing your nice shot!   Posted: 10/08/2025 13:29:41

Beautiful Ruth. You did a great job bringing up the colors and cropping on the right. The sun flare is perfect. Well done.   Posted: 10/11/2025 15:09:44

Ruth, this is my favorite season and I always look forward to seeing your images from autumn! You have captured a beautiful scene of aspen trees with the golden leaves and the sunburst just makes it really pop. The path leading into the grove with the shadows of the tree trunks leads me into the forest! I am a bit distracted by the trees leaning to the right so I straightened it a bit which loses part of the evergreen on the left. Not sure it makes a difference really, just my perspective. Beautiful image.   Posted: 10/19/2025 22:28:14
Hi, Rut, What a lovely fall shot. the sun shining behind the aspen is delightful. My only suggestions would be to crop out most of the sky ad definitely the partial fir tree on the right hand side. There is also the feeling that the trees are leaning to the right, but that may be natural from the prevailing wind direction.   Posted: 10/20/2025 19:02:40
I just noticed that the partial tree of the right on which I had commented, must have been in theaadff original and not in your final image.   Posted: 10/20/2025 19:08:03

Hi Ruth
Such a beautiful image! I love how you shot directly into the sun for a very effective sunburst effect. I love the light, the DOF and the detail. Awesome job in post to enhance the color and light. I wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 10/26/2025 17:26:02
