Silver Falls State Park in Oregon image taken two weekends ago. This 177 foot cascade is one of ten waterfalls on this trail. Sony 6300 at 1/60th, F 6.3, iso 800. Composite of three photos.

This turned out beautiful. I was there a couple of weeks ago also, but not on the weekend. This is a challenging falls to photograph with so many different lighting levels and so many people. Nice getting the hollyhocks in the foreground for some color. Posted: 07/10/2026 21:56:59
Nice composition and lighting. Possibly under expose the top right sun lit shelf as it seems to pull my eye from the falls.

This is about as good as this particular situation could allow. Slow shutter was appropriate; The fall is in a good place in the frame. Details in the shadows are good. Exposure is right on. Posted: 07/17/2026 21:50:40
