About the Image(s)

Dawn

Canon EOS R6ll, 209mm, 1/800, 7.1/f, iso/2000.

Again at anchor early in the morning having coffee. I didn’t see this image till I picked up the binoculars and noticed the B&W reflection on the water. Hmmmm. Wonder if I’ll see that with the camera. I did . Then took a few pictures. The duck is just a stand in though gives your eye some where to go. I decided to open the shadows and exposure a bit on the stand in Duck.

That poor, little, lonely duck makes a fine image. Even though the water is very busy, it saves things. You kept just enough gray in the highlights to stop those areas from overwhelming the eye.   Posted: 10/11/2025 11:41:57

Small subject in a large field. Nice capture of the olines in the water with the wider lines in the back giving depth to the photo. Here, placing the subject in the center works,   Posted: 10/14/2025 23:07:08

The duck could have been completely in silhouette but you have handled it well. What would you think about cropping in closer to the duck?   Posted: 10/20/2025 22:41:44
